The Fourth of July is one of my very favorite day. It is a celebration of the country that I love, a great opportunity to spend time with family, almost always burgers on the grill and corn on the cob and topped off with fireworks. This year was the best ever because I shared it with my little man. Today Jack saw his first parade (yes, he was in one last year, but this was the first one he watched). He also enjoyed fireworks for the first time. It was a day to remember and cherish forever.

We started our day at the Mokena Parade. Jack enjoyed the balloons and the drums most and also loved waving his little flags.

After lunch and a nap we spent some time with our friends, Wendy, Jim and Kylee Rinke, as well as Cheryl (Aunt Looney), Terry, Uncle Billy and Grammie and Grampie Hawke. We didn't think to bring his swim suit so Jack played in the pool in an old princess themed diaper full of water. It was quite a sight, but the camera missed it when the memory card stopped working. We did manage to catch him trying on a sombrero.
